WDR's civil division has years of industrial experience. Tank foundations, slabs, footings, piers, motor foundations, and containment areas are routine scope for this division — and it exists for a practical reason. Mechanical equipment is only as good as what it sits on, and coordinating a concrete subcontractor against a mechanical schedule is one of the most reliable ways to lose weeks on an industrial project.

By performing our own civil work, we control the anchor bolt layout, the cure schedule, and the equipment set as one continuous sequence. When the foundation crew and the millwrights answer to the same superintendent, tolerance problems get caught before the equipment shows up on a truck.

Anchor bolt layout and alignment

Anchor bolt layout and alignment is precision work, and getting it wrong is expensive. Our crews set templates and verify bolt patterns against the equipment submittals — not just the civil drawings — so a pump, motor, vessel, or structural column lands where it belongs the first time.

Containment, dike walls, and drainage

Industrial sites carry environmental obligations that ordinary concrete work doesn't address. We build containment areas and dike walls for tank farms and chemical storage, along with drainage work and sitework to move water where it needs to go. This work is often performed alongside our shoreline and industrial services scope.

Equipment and motor foundations

Motor foundations, equipment pads, and housekeeping pads are built to carry real dynamic loads, not just to look level. We also handle remodeling and modification of existing foundations — cutting in new pads, extending slabs, and reworking piers when a plant changes its equipment layout.
